Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get more resources about living with diabetes?
The largest organizations in the US for people living with diabetes are the American Diabetes Association (http://www.diabetes.org/) and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (http://jdrf.org/). Both of their sites offer valuable resources for people living with diabetes, so please contact them if you have any questions.

Could you recommend a doctor/technology to help someone with diabetes?
DTS does not offer this service. We suggest calling your doctor or your local hospital.

How do I become a member of the society?
DTS is not a membership-based organization, but people who register for our diabetes meetings, read our professional journal, follow our social media on Twitter and Facebook, and receive notifications about DTS’s upcoming projects are considered members of the diabetes technology community.  The combination of attending meetings, reading a journal, and receiving news is similar to what many organizations provide for their members.

Do your meetings offer CME credits?
Our diabetes meetings provide CME credits. View the accreditation link on the meeting’s dropdown menu to see specifics.

How do you choose speakers for your meetings?
Each of our meetings has a Planning Committee that elects and selects speakers for the meeting. If you are interested in speaking at a meeting, you can send an email to info@diabetestechnology.org, and we will pass the request along to the meeting’s Planning Committee.

When does early bird registration close?
Early bird registration typically closes one to two months before the meeting.

Can I submit an article to your journal?
Journal of Diabetes Science and Technology welcomes submissions at any time. Please see our manuscript submission guidelines, which include instructions about formatting, information about the manuscript types we consider, and the procedure for submitting a manuscript to our journal: http://jdst.org/manuscript.pdf.

I registered for a meeting that includes a complimentary subscription to the journal. When will I receive my journal subscription code?
You will receive an email from DTS with your journal subscription code within a week following the meeting. Please email info@diabetestechnology.org if you have not heard from us.
