Advances in Insulin Pump Infusion Sets Symposium

Insulin pumps are an important tool for diabetes therapy. These devices depend on effective insulin infusion sets. But these sets can create a burden because of skin irritation and a need for frequent substitution. New technology can greatly reduce the burden so that insulin infusion sets can provide both improved functionality and user satisfaction.

The purpose of the “ADVANCES IN INSULIN PUMP INFUSION SETS” symposium is to answer:

  1. Why are current insulin infusion sets a burden to users of insulin pump therapy?
  2. Which technologies can maintain insulin stability as well as increase insulin infusion set wear-time?
  3. How can industry and academia improve the user experience for patients using pump therapy?

Diabetes Technology Society invites healthcare professionals to hear a discussion by six insulin pump experts from medicine, pediatrics, and engineering about current challenges and recent advances in technology for insulin sets.
