Therese Franco, MD, SFHM, is the Associate Regional Medical Director of the CHI Franciscan Health Inpatient Team in Tacoma, WA and serves as the President of the Society of Hospital Medicine’s Pacific Northwest Chapter. A graduate of Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, MI, she completed her residency in internal medicine at the University of Connecticut in Farmington, CT prior to taking a research fellowship through the Center for Healthcare Improvement Science, at the Virginia Mason Medical Center. Dr. Franco has longstanding experience with inpatient glycemic management, which includes leadership in the development of hospital programs with successful patient outcomes in addition to authoring several publications. She also is an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of Washington, a nationally featured speaker, and in 2017, she received a patient safety award for her work on glycemic control in the hospital.
