Dr. Ralph Ziegler, MD, is a pediatrician from Münster (Germany), where he has operated a private pediatric and adolescent diabetology practice since 1993. His long-standing career as a pediatric diabetologist started in 1985 at the University Children’s Hospital, Münster, and includes 2 years of research training at the Joslin Diabetes Center of Harvard Medical School in Boston (USA). He is also serving as the pediatric diabetology consultant for the Children’s Hospital of St. Franziskus-Hospital, Münster.
In Germany, Dr. Ziegler has pioneered the use of insulin pumps, AID-Systems and digital technology for treating children and adolescents and he puts some effort into teaching and motivating pediatric patients, their families and caregivers. His research interests lie in the area of CSII, CGM, AID, personalized diabetes management and telemedicine.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Ralph Ziegler is also dedicated to teaching and training medical students at the Medical School of University Münster.
Dr. Ziegler was Chair of the Board of the German Working Group for Pediatric Diabetes, German Working Group for Diabetes and technology and Member of the Board of the German Diabetes Association and currently Member of their Taskforce Digital Diabetes.
