Sacha Uelmen leads one of only two national accrediting organizations responsible for certifying diabetes education programs seeking Medicare reimbursement for their services across the country. She facilitates a network of over 800 programs serving over 220,000 people with diabetes each year. She is a diabetes technology resident expert at ADCES contributing committees, coalitions and danatech content. Uelmen is the past Director of Nutrition at the American Diabetes Association, where she led strategy and direction across all nutrition-related content and collaborations at ADA, including programs, products and services for multidisciplinary diabetes professionals and people with diabetes. Sacha’s clinical career was established at the University of Michigan Health System leading the Adult Diabetes Education Program through a comprehensive and full-service DSMES program working alongside renowned experts in diabetes care and education. She led technology integration efforts throughout the clinic and health system to increase quality of care for people with diabetes.
