Dr. Nestoras Mathioudakis is an Associate Professor in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism, and Biomedical Informatics at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. His research focuses on diabetes prevention and management using machine learning with large health record data sets, and he has authored over 100 publications. Currently, he's leading two NIH-funded R01 studies: one evaluating an AI-based diabetes prevention program, and another aimed at increasing equitable use of diabetes technologies in type 1 diabetes. He serves as the Hopkins adult diabetes center PI for the T1D Exchange QI Collaborative and Co-Medical Director of the Baltimore Metropolitan Diabetes Regional Partnership, guiding initiatives to increase access to diabetes prevention and self-management programs across Maryland. Since 2021, he has served as a Co-Chair on the ADA’s international Precision Medicine Diabetes Initiative.
