Andrea Facchinetti, MS, PhD

Andrea Facchinetti was born in Padova, Italy, on July 27, 1981. He received the M.S. degree (cum laude) in Information Engineering in 2005 and the Ph.D. degree in Bioengineering in 2009. He is Associate Professor of “Biomedical Signal Processing” at the Department of Information Engineering. His research focuses on diabetes technologies since 2006 and his expertise includes linear and nonlinear multivariate glucose data analysis, decision support systems, digital-twin methodologies, and wearable sensors. His research is currently supported by the Italian Ministry of Education and European Community, being principal investigator and co-investigator of several national/international projects. He has published >100 papers in peer-reviewed international journals, has an H-index of 36, and holds 6 granted patents in the field. He is currently Associate Editor for the IEEE Journal of Biomedical Health and Informatics, and member of the editorial boards of Journal of Diabetes Science and Technology and MDPI Sensors.
