Dr Pratik Choudhary is Professor of Diabetes at the University of Leicester. He has active clinical and research programs around education, psychology and technology in type 1 diabetes. In particular, his research uses neuroimaging to explore the mechanisms of hypoglycaemia unawareness, and the use of different strategies such as technology and behavioral interventions to restore awareness. He has a particular interest in the use of technology in diabetes, leading a number of studies over the years evaluating the benefits of diabetes technologies as well as national and international training and education programs for diabetes. He is part of the HypoRESOLVE consortium, leading a mulit-national study evaluating the impact of symptomatic and asymptomatic hypoglycaemia in people with diabetes. He is currently chair of the Diabetes Technology Network-UK, working to improve access to technology for diabetes through training, education and advocacy.  He is also a member of the EASD post-graduate education committee and the medical advisory panel on diabetes to the department of transport in the UK as well as an associate editor for Diabetic Medicine.
