Elvira Isganaitis, MD, MPH

Elvira Isganaitis received her MD degree from McGill University in Montreal, after which she obtained a Master's in Public Health at the Harvard School of Public Health, followed by residency training in general pediatrics at UCSF and a subspecialty fellowship in pediatric endocrinology at Massachusetts General Hospital.

She is now an assistant professor of pediatrics at Harvard Medical School, and is an attending in Pediatric Endocrinology as well as an assistant investigator at Joslin Diabetes Center. She divides her time between patient care in the Joslin Pediatric Clinic, basic research on cellular and epigenetic mechanisms of developmental programming, and clinical trials for type 1 and type 2 diabetes in youth.  She has been a co-investigator on several clinical trials examining safety and efficacy of closed-loop insulin delivery systems in youth and young adults, including the FLAIR study of Medtronic advanced hybrid closed-loop, the IDCL study of Control-IQ, and the Insulet Horizon Preschool study.
