Dr. Andreas Stuhr, MD MBA is Chief Medical Officer of Ascensia Diabetes Care leading Ascensia’s medical research in the area of SMBG, CGM, digital applications and telehealth. He received his medical education at the University of Munich, Germany and the Marshfield Clinic and Hospital, Marshfield WI; USA. Dr. Stuhr received his Medical degree from the Ludwig - Maximilians - University, Munich, Germany and conducted his pediatric training at the Children’s Hospital of the University of Munich, in addition to performing research on growth hormone disorders.

He is a Global Medical Affairs leader with almost 20 years’ experience in both pharmaceutical as well as medical device and diagnostics industry. Prior to joining Ascensia he held various leadership positions in the US and Europe at Sanofi, Roche Diagnostics, Beckton & Dickinson and Eli Lilly Co.

Dr. Stuhr is author of several scientific papers about SMBG and CGMS accuracy and specifically its use and clinical utility, clinical use of existing and novel insulins as well as a diabetes dictionary.

He is a former board member of the Diabetes Hands Foundation and member ADA JK Lilly Award committee and is a current active board member of the Diabetes Foundation, NJ.
