Dr Leslie Klaff graduated in medicine from the University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg and completed his Internal medicine residency, Endocrine fellowship and PhD at the University of Cape Town. He relocated to the USA in 1983 when he joined the faculty at the University of Washington, Seattle as an investigator on the DCCT. He entered endocrine practice in 1989 and was a founder of Rainier Clinical Research Center, which is an independent research center specializing in Diabetes clinical trials. He is an Emeritus Clinical Professor at the University of Washington and has co-authored over 60 articles and book chapters. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (Edin) and a fellow of the American College of Clinical Endocrinologists.
