Stephen D. Patek PhD

He has been active in diabetes technology since 2007. He was a faculty member and Professor of Systems Engineering at the University of Virginia from 1998-2018, and was a founding member of the UVA Center for Diabetes Technology. In 2013, he co-founded TypeZero Technologies, Inc., which was acquired by Dexcom in 2018. At Dexcom, he serves as a Principle Algorithm Engineer and leads research and development activities on automated insulin delivery systems, algorithmic control of diabetes, and supporting models and methods including simulation.
