Ulrike Klueh PhD

Dr. Klueh is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Wayne State University.  She has been working in the diabetes field for the past 18 years focused on artificial pancreas development as it relates to glucose sensors and insulin infusion sets.  Specifically, Dr. Klueh’s work has focused on using tissue engineering to enhance and extend the functional lifespan of implanted sensors and infusion sets.  Her foundational work has resulted in numerous publications and patents as well as in the creation of Cell and Molecular Tissue Engineering, LLC, a spin-off company designed to translate her work from the bench to the bedside.
