Joshua Balsam PhD

Joshua Balsam is a scientific and regulatory reviewer in FDA's Office of In Vitro Diagnostics and Radiological Health, Division of Chemistry and Toxicology Devices (DCTD). He joined the FDA in 2010 as a Medical Device Fellow in CDRH's Office of Science and Engineering Labs. Josh joined DCTD in 2014, where he is a senior lead reviewer with experience in PMAs, De Novos, 510(k)s, IDEs, and pre-submissions, in addition to post-market and compliance activities. Josh received his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland where his research focused on optical detection techniques for in vitro diagnostics.
