Alex Abramson PhD

Alex Abramson is a Postdoctoral Fellow at Stanford University developing ingestible and implantable bioelectronic devices for a variety of therapeutic applications. He received his PhD in Chemical Engineering at MIT studying under Professor Robert Langer, where he worked closely with Novo Nordisk pharmaceuticals and gastroenterologist Giovanni Traverso to develop a commercially viable and safe pill for the efficient delivery of biomacromolecule drugs. His work, published in Science and Nature journals, has received considerable press coverage from such news outlets as the New York Times, New England Journal of Medicine and Wired. He is also involved in the public health sector and has performed research on quantifying the quality of life impact that novel biomedical technologies have on patients worldwide. In his spare time, Alex volunteers as a math tutor at a local elementary school and he mentors start-up ventures in the biotechnology space.
