Robert A. Gabbay, M.D., Ph.D. is Chief Medical Officer and Senior Vice President at Joslin Diabetes Center in Boston, MA and is an Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School. His research focuses on innovative models for improving primary health care delivery to enhance diabetes outcomes and patients’ experiences. To improve quality he has traversed many arenas including better patient communication and digital tools, creating the first broad scale diabetes registry, designing and implementing a care management training program, and defining the medical neighborhoods and the role of centers of excellence. Dr. Gabbay’s worked with leading industry partners to improve and implement innovative technologies and digital health tools to support outcomes. Dr. Gabbay is committed to providing solutions to population health systems to ultimately to improve the lives of those with diabetes within the walls of Joslin and through disseminating these approaches regionally, nationally, and internationally.
