David Weissman, MD

Dr. David Weissman is the Director of the Respiratory Health Division, at the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), in Morgantown, West Virginia. He is responsible for overseeing research dedicated to the prevention of occupational respiratory disease. Dr. Weissman has a long history of working in the areas of allergy/immunology and pulmonary diseases, holding board certifications in these areas and serving in clinical settings and academic institutions. Joining NIOSH in 1997, he served in numerous roles before becoming division director in 2005. He has received a number of awards and recognitions, including a CDC Shepard Award, a CDC Service Award and an HHS Secretary’s Distinguished Service Award. Dr. Weissman holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences and a Doctorate of Medicine from Northwestern University.
