Dr. Patricia Gómez was born in Santiago, Chile. Medical degree from the University of Chile, with a Internal Medicine and Adult Diabetology residency at the Hospital Clínico Universidad de Chile,. Her training was completed with a post doc fellow research at Emory University. Currently is assistant professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Chile. Also, is professor of the diabetes specialization program, leads the development of the national strategy for diabetes, creation of guidelines and protocols for in-hospital management, author and co-author of several related articles. Has a particular interest in the care of hyperglycemia in hospital, post-transplant diabetes and critical patients. During the pandemic, she has performed conferences about diabetes and COVID-19 protocols for Latin American countries. Dr. Gómez is a member of the Society of Internal Medicine, member of the Chilean Society of Endocrinology and Diabetes, and member of the Chilean Society of Diabetology.
