David A. Drew, Ph.D. is an Instructor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School as well as Director of Biobanking for the Clinical & Translational Epidemiology Unit (CTEU) and Instructor of Investigation within the Division of Gastroenterology at Massachusetts General Hospital. His specific research interests are in the identification, interception and precision prevention of gastrointestinal cancers and other diseases. He has a specialized expertise in clinical trial design and implementation and population-based molecular epidemiology studies, especially with respect to studies of the gut microbiome and precision risk biomarkers. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Drew served as part of the team of investigators that launched the COVID Symptom Study mobile phone application in the U.S. which has provided a platform for adaptable, high-dimensional data capture that empowers real-time epidemiology in response to the public health crisis.
