Joseph Aloi, MD
Wake Forest School of Medicine, Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA

I am the Section Chief for the Endocrinology & Metabolism Division of the Department of Medicine at the Wake Forest School of Medicine. I began my interest in clinical research while working as a research chemist at the National Institutes of Health. I pursued a degree in Medicine at the George Washington School of Medicine before moving to the University of Virginia where I completed my residency and fellowship training. My interest in leveraging technology to help improve the delivery of healthcare to persons with diabetes started when I moved to the Strelitz Diabetes Center/Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS). It was at EVMS that I focused my interests and research on improving inpatient glucose management and developing pathways to enhance diabetes care delivery remotely. I have been at Wake Forest for more than 5 years now and have the same passion for helping to improve the care of persons with diabetes and training our next generation of health care providers.
