Robert A. Vigersky, M.D. is Chief Medical Officer of Medtronic Diabetes and Professor of Medicine at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. He is a graduate of Boston University School of Medicine, Internal Medicine trainee at The Johns Hopkins Hospital and Endocrinology Fellow at NIH.

Dr. Vigersky founded the Diabetes Institute of the Walter Reed Health Care System. He was a member of the VA/DoD diabetes guideline committee, represented the Department of Defense on the Advisory Council of the NIDDK, and was a member of NIDDK’s DSMB for TrialNet. He on the Diabetes Technology and Therapeutics Editorial Board and reviews for over 20 peer-reviewed journals.

Dr. Vigersky served as Endocrine Society President from 2009-2010. He received the Diabetes Technology Society’s Leadership Award in 2011. Dr. Vigersky has published over 320 scholarly papers and abstracts focusing on the use of technology to improve outcomes of patients with diabetes.
